The Gaudí Center in Madrid has awarded Mr. Manuel Merdarde Sagrera, founding member of The Gaudí Research Institute, the First Prize for Gaudí Research and Dissemination in its first edition.

The Gaudí Center in Madrid has awarded Mr. Manuel Merdarde Sagrera, founding member of The Gaudí Research Institute, the First Prize for Gaudí Research and Dissemination in its first edition. The award ceremony will take place during the celebration of the III National Gaudí Conference in Madrid, which will take place on October 4-5, 2024 within the framework of Architecture Week organized by the Official College of Architects, the City Council and the Madrid’s Community. The diploma that certified the communication was given to the winner in Barcelona by a delegation from the Gaudí Center in Madrid headed by Dr. Nieves Gómez Álvarez, president of the Gaudí Center in Madrid, professor of Creativity and Aesthetic Experience and of Anthropology at the Villanueva University and president of the Ateneo Escurialense. The diploma also bore the signature of the secretary of said center, Ms. María Eugenia García Bermejo, art historian and head of training at Nártex. Among the attendees were the architects Mr. Javier Franco and Mr. José Manuel Almuzara Pérez, members of the board of directors of the Gaudí Center of Madrid, as well as the architect Dr. Carlos José Salas Mirat. Likewise, the aforementioned Center delivered to The Gaudí Research Institute the book containing the conferences of the II National Gaudí Conference in Madrid that took place in October 2023, including the conference given at the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando by Mr. Pere Jordi Figuerola Rotger, also a founding member of this Institute.
