TGRI carries out exclusive visits to the fantastic worlds that Gaudí created, always under a scientific premise, which transport the public to that unknown dimension of the mind of the universal genius. These visits encourage the power of observation and reflection, all from new points of view and from unexpected places far from crowds.
In this sense, the visits that TGRI has made for National Geographic can be highlighted. Thus, within the framework of the “World NG” program, an expert visit was carried out to Colònia Güell that included the TGRI headquarters and Gaudí’s church declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Within the same “World NG” program, TGRI made another visit to the little-known work of the Bodegas Güell (Garraf, Sitges, Barcelona) that Gaudí built for his patron and friend Eusebi Güell.
As members of the General Council of Cultural Tourism in Catalonia, we collaborate in the training of tourism guides qualified by the Generalitat of Catalonia, we were keynote speakers at the 1st Forum in Barcelona dedicated to the tour guiding organized by Barcelona Guide Bureau and we have participated in the courses of the Mediterranean Pearls project of the European Union.
We do all this with the prospect of achieving responsible and quality tourism, following the masters of Gaudí who in 1908 already actively participated in the pioneering organization of the promotion and the promotion of tourism in Barcelona (the Society for the Attraction of Foreigners) and who established the first international tour guide service at the Sagrada Familia in 1914. This is the reason why one of our research projects is titled “Gaudí’s tourism model: pioneer of slow tourism”.
