We express our deepest condolences for the death of Federico Mayor Zaragoza on
December 19.
Among the numerous positions he held throughout his life, those of UNESCO stand
out; for 4 years he was its deputy director general and then for 13 more years its director
general.
He was a member of the honorary committee of the Gaudí World Congresses organized
by The Gaudí Research Institute at the University of Barcelona.
In 2023 he inaugurated the “II National Gaudí Conference in Madrid”, an event that
took place at the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando and in which Pere
Jordi Figuerola Rotger, founding member of TGRI, participated with a presentation on
the recent research carried out by this organization in Colonia Güell.
