Our friend the Japanese sculptor EtsuroSotoo received the 2024 Ratzinger Prize at the Vatican on November 22.
The ceremony took place in the Sala Regia of the Apostolic Palace and was presided over by Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State of His Holiness. After the welcome speech by Father Federico Lombardi, president of the Joseph Ratzinger-Benedict XVI Vatican Foundation, which assigns this prize created in 2011, followed the presentation of the winners by Archbishop Salvatore Fisichella, pro-prefect of the Dicastery for Evangelization, and Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi, president emeritus of the Pontifical Council for Culture.
